WHY CURTIS CLEMONS FOR SHERIFF?

Law Enforcement Experience & Leadership

 

Curtis Clemons is a recognized leader, in the military, and as a law enforcement officer. He has dedicated his life to providing fair and impartial service to all people of Gwinnett County. He has been a community advocate through youth mentorship and enabling positive police and community interactions.

 

In 2017, Curtis became the first person of color appointed to the rank of Assistant Chief in the history of Gwinnett County. He was assigned to the Administrative and Support Operations Divisions and assisted in facilitating the department’s 131-million-dollar budget.

Curtis retired from Gwinnett County Police after 30 years of Service to Gwinnett County.

 

In March of 2019, Curtis retired from Gwinnett County Police after 30 years of Service to Gwinnett County. He continues to serve the community and desires to return to the Sheriff’s Office to restore accountability and accessibility in the 2020 election.

 

Family Values & Community 

 

Under Curtis Clemons leadership, the Gwinnett Police Department established a partnership with DFCS (Dept. of Family and Children Services) to expedite critical services to women, children, and elderly victims of sexual assault and physical abuse. He further worked to improve community relations with law enforcement and citizens through Inter-Faith Outreach and diverse community relations.
